Reading and writing support
Are you a student at Campus Helsingborg and have a disability that makes it difficult to read printed text? Then the library will help you apply for a talking book account.
A talking book is an adapted version of a printed book for people with a disability. In the talking book, you listen to the book and read the text at the same time.
Examples of disabilities that can provide access to talking books are:
- Dyslexia
- Visual impairment
- Neuropsychiatric disabilities, such as autism and ADHD

With a talking book account, you both search for and download books in the digital library Legimus.
Legimus
To get access to talking books, you need a Legimus account. The library will help you apply for this. The Swedish Agency for Accessible Media will then decide whether you are qualified to an account.
Book an application appointment
If you already have a Legimus account, you can transfer it to Lund University to get access to course literature. You do this on "My pages" in Legimus.

If a course book is missing in Legimus, you can order it as a talking book. The course book must be mandatory, read in its entirety and not available as an e-book in Finn. The library sends the order to the Swedish Agency for Accessible Media. It can take 8-12 weeks before the book is finished.

If the book is available to borrow as an e-book, you can use the speech synthesis TorTalk to read it aloud.
There are various programs that can help you when reading and writing. Some programs can be downloaded by anyone at Lund University and installed on your computer or mobile phone.
TorTalk is a program for listening to all types of digital text.
You can choose your voice, language, and speaking rate.
WriteText is a spell checker that works in Microsoft 365. In Chrome and Edge browsers, it's an extension.
SkrivaText corrects spelling and grammatical errors in Swedish and English. You can also use the program to look up words in dictionaries (Swedish, English and Swedish/English – English/Swedish dictionary)

Reference management tools
Reference management is important for anyone writing an academic text. Through correct referencing, you recognize the author/s contribution to your understanding. You also give your reader the opportunity to reproduce your research by following the same cited texts. The reference list allows your reader to find your sources.
There are several software programs that can be used to facilitate reference management. For students at Lund University, EndNote is accessible via a campus licence, and we also recommend the freeware Zotero. The software programs function in slightly different ways and you can read more about them on Lund University Libraries webbsite lub.lu.se/en. If you want to install EndNote you can download it from the student portal.

Book a librarian
Are you having trouble finding relevant material? The quickest way of getting into contact with a librarian is to approach the information desk where you can get help right away. You can book an appointment with a librarian either by contacting your subject librarian via your subject guide or via the library email. You can also contact us via our booking form below.
LUP Student Papers
Student theses from Lund University are published in full text in LUP Student Papers. Theses published in LUP Student Papers are also accessible via the national database Uppsök.
What is required to upload my theses in LUP Student Papers?
- You must be registered or re-registered on the relevant theses course.
- You must have access to your student account.
- The theses must be in PDF format.
- It is important that you write the entire theses in a single file, i.e. title page, abstract, list of contents, text, reference list and any attachments are not to be divided into separate Word documents.
If you have problems with your username or password, contact LU ServiceDesk. If you have finished your studies and therefore do not have access to a student account, or if you have other questions, you are welcome to contact us for help.
Publishing your paper in LUP Student Papers
The author of the thesis is responsible for uploading the final version of the paper in LUP registration. The theses is then sent for review and subsequent publication. Detailed instructions on how to upload your theses or paper in the system are available in the video below, with English subtitles, and in the LUP Student Papers manual.
