Celebrating 25 Years of Campus Helsingborg

25 anniversary

On October 10, 2025, Campus Helsingborg celebrated its 25th anniversary with a festive afternoon filled with music, reflections, and forward-looking conversations. The event welcomed staff, alumni, students, and partners to honor a quarter-century of education, research, and collaboration.

The celebration began with a mingling lunch accompanied by live music from students at Malmö Academy of Music. Lena Eskilsson, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Lund University, opened the event by emphasizing the importance of having a university presence in Skåne’s three largest cities, and highlighted Campus Helsingborg’s vital role in regional development.
The program included:

  • A historical look back at the campus’s founding and early challenges
  • Presentations showcasing the diversity and excellence of current education and research
  • A panel of alumni sharing how their studies in Helsingborg shaped their careers

Christian Orsing, Chair of the City Executive Committee in Helsingborg, gave a speech connecting the historical reasons behind the campus’s establishment with its current academic offerings. He also spoke about the strong alignment between Lund University and the City of Helsingborg in shaping the future together.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Campus Helsingborg

The final part of the program focused on the future of university campuses. A panel discussion explored how Campus Helsingborg can continue to evolve as a vibrant, inclusive space—not only for students and staff, but for the wider community. Topics included the university’s role in urban development, the importance of creating attractive physical environments, and how campuses can serve as open meeting places for innovation, learning, and social connection.

The day concluded with reflections and a shared sense of pride, unity, and optimism. Guests were invited to share advice for the future, encouraging the campus to stay curious, bold, and collaborative.

Meanwhile, students enjoyed their own celebration with a dedicated cake party in the campus entrance, complete with coffee served by baristas and a photo booth to capture memories—generously supported by the City of Helsingborg.
