The Campus Helsingborg International Student Career Programme, launched in the spring of 2025, consists of a series of events specifically designed to equip international students with the tools needed to navigate the Swedish labour market, apply for jobs and internships, visit local companies, and build valuable professional networks.

More than 350 international students participated in the activities during the year. The programme is organised in collaboration between the Department of Communication, the Department of Service Studies, and Helsingborg International Connections (HIC), and is funded by Pioneer Funds from Lund University.

This week, the programme hosted its final event of the semester on the theme “Work in Skåne, Future trends, AI impact & Regional resources” with two inspiring lectures in Mindpark. Karsten Deppert, co-founder of Mindpark and Contentor, and department manager at LU Innovation, as well as founder of several other business initiatives, gave a view of the regional job market, which includes a growing ecosystem of tech companies, e-commerce firms, startups, and the gaming industry, among other sectors. He also emphasised Helsingborg’s strong entrepreneurial climate and the many opportunities it can provide to international students.

In addition, Rabie Salem, CEO at Contentor, a company that provides AI-content solutions for e-commerce, shared insights into how his company navigated the AI transition and provided reflections on the future labour market in relation to AI. One of his recommendations was to focus on learning, unlearning, and relearning to secure a job in a rapidly changing environment.

Students from the Master’s programme in Strategic Communication and Service Management from all over the world attended the event, together with representatives from the city, recruiters, and former programme speakers. The event concluded with a networking ”fika”.

During 2025, the programme organised seven events, including presentations on the Swedish job market, how to find an internship in Sweden, and Swedish corporate culture; workshops on building confidence in change, CV writing, and LinkedIn optimisation; as well as visits to IKEA IT and Nederman, two global companies headquartered in Helsingborg. After an inspiring and intense year, the Career Programme will take a well-deserved break to recharge and prepare new activities for next year.
